Patrick, my bonus brother, words can not describe how I feel right now. I am heartbroken. You were there for the joys and challenges, a shoulder to lean on and cry on at one of the saddest times of our lives. Although I can’t imagine a world without you, you have left me with a treasure trove of memories.
I will cherish our childhood memories, the times you visited me in college in Illinois, hanging out in the Bay Area, DC/Maryland, Houston, and the fun times in Ghana with our families. I hope you knew how much I appreciated you and how thankful I am for you, for your kindness, compassion, for being a great listener, and a sounding board when I needed it most. I will always be there for Lynda, Klenam, and Sefakor the way you were for me.
In our last chat, I asked how you were doing, you said, “I am fine, oh.” I can’t believe this would be the last time we would speak, but I’ll take your word for it. I know you are fine, at peace, and surrounded by love. I love you and will miss you dearly.
Rest well, Patrick.
