Patrick, as you are laid to rest today, I can’t help but remember your shouts of “Allahu akbar“ on entering your office one of the afternoons. It was your way of telling me I was welcomed and that I had been in your thoughts that day.
I am going to miss the calm but persistent demeanor you emanated and the encouragement you gave no matter how challenging the task ahead was.
When Ashesi started, you called me in. You always had a way of drawing people into what you believed in. The void you’ve left cannot be explained; I am also saying to myself “God knows best”. May you rest perfectly in His bosom. Fare thee well my friend.
